Wool fertiliser pellets

🌱 Attention all garden lovers and hobby gardeners! After many trials and experiments, we have finally succeeded in making fertiliser pellets from 100% pure wool – entirely without binders such as molasses or starch. 💪

The wool comes from our Värmland sheep, an old Swedish breed that is threatened with extinction and that we deliberately preserve through our breeding. The entire production process takes place on our Runeholm farm in Småland, near Vimmerby.

We are very proud of our product and can now offer our customers the first batch of this organic fertiliser.

Use & effect

A fertiliser for improving soil and subsoil and for supplying nutrients to various plants at different growth stages. Suitable for different soil types and growing conditions – also for young plants and plants in pots, raised beds and planters.

The universal, nutrient-rich composition covers the plants' most important nutrient needs, maintains or increases the humus content and stimulates the microbiological activity of the soil.

The fertiliser pellets not only store water – they absorb two to three times their own weight – but as they swell they also increase the porosity of the soil and improve its structure.

The product helps to restore a neutral pH. It is not suitable for plants that prefer acidic soils. A positive side effect: thanks to their coarse structure, wool pellets can deter slugs and soil pests.

Fertilising recommendation

For localised fertilising, the pellets must be worked into the soil at least 3–5 (10) cm deep, as the bacteria in the upper soil layer activate the pellets. The breakdown process takes up to six months, so one application per season is usually enough.

Fertilise shrubs and young trees within the width of the crown. Apply once or twice per season. The first application is made before the main soil cultivation, before and/or during sowing or planting, or in the early growing phase. Further applications depend on the plants' needs, the timing of the application and the nutrient content of the soil.

Average application rate: 100 g/m² or 10–20 g per 1 l of soil.
